Vijay Manjrekar (1931-1983 ) :

Born on 26, September in Mumbai he was the former Indian cricketer who played 55 tests and 198 first class matches. His debut came against England in 1951. His top score in the tests is 189 not out against England. He made 3208 runs in the tests which include 7 centuries and 15 half centuries. He was the father of another well known Indian cricketer, Sanjay Manjrekar.

Eknath Solkar ( 1948-2005 ) :

Born on March 18, 1948 in Mumbai Solkar was an Indian all-round cricketer who played 27 tests and 7 ODIs. Solkar was famous for his excellent close in fielding. His 53 catches in only 27 matches is the best ratio of any non-keeper.

Ajit Wadekar :

Born 1,April 1949 in Mumbai Ajit Laxman Wadekar is a former Indian cricketer. He made his test cricket debut in 1966 against West Indies. He became the captain of the Indian team in 1971 and proved himself to be one of the best captains of Indian cricket. He became the first Indian captain to achieve series victories over West Indies and England. He played 37 tests and two ODIs.

Sunil Gavaskar :

Born 10, July 1949, Sunil Manohar Gavaskar was a gem of Indian cricket. He has the reputation as one of the greatest opening batsmen in test-match history. His foot work and technique are marvelous and worth watching. He made his test debut on 6, March 1971 against West Indies. He is the first ever batsman to score 10,000 runs in test matches. Gavaskar set world records for the mast runs and most centuries scored by any batsman. His record of 37 test centuries was held unbeaten for two decades until it was broken by Sachin Tendulkar in December 2005. He played 125 tests and 108 ODIs. His highest score in test matches is 236 runs. He captained the Indian team for a pronged period.

Dilip Vengsarkar :

Born 6, April 1956, Dilip Balwant Vengsarkar was the former Indian cricketer. He made his test debut against New Zea land in 1976. He played 116 tests and 129 ODIs. He also served as captain and chairman, selection committee. Dilip Vengsarkar was awarded the Arjuna and the Padmashri awards from the Indian Government.

Sanjay Manjrekar :

Born 12, July 1965 in Mangalore, Sanjay Manjrekar is a stylish batsman. He played 2043 test matches and 1994 One Day Internationals for India. His top score in Test is 218 runs.

Sachin Tendulkar :

Born 24, April 1973 in Mumbai, Sachin Ramesh Tentdulkar is the greatest cricketer. It may not be an exaggeration to say that there is no Indian who do not know Sachin Tendulkar.
